Sharing the Blessing of Ashura
On the Day of Ashura, In Your Hand is preparing to distribute Ashura to Qur’an students, children, families, and communities in need across Latin America.
The Ashura Day Ashura Distribution will be carried out in:
Mexico, Guatemala, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina.
The distribution will focus on Qur’an students, children, families, and communities in need.
Honoring the People of the Qur’an
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Honor the bearers of the Qur’an. Whoever honors them has certainly honored me.”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اَكْرِمُوا حَمَلَةَ الْقُرْآنِ فَمَنْ اَكْرَمَهُمْ فَقَدْ اَكْرَمَنِي. (فيض)
Generosity on the Day of Ashura
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever is generous to his family on the Day of Ashura, Allah will expand his provision throughout the entire year.”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ وَسَّعَ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ فِي يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ وَسَعَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي سَنَتِهِ كُلِّهَا. (ج)
Ashura Fasting and Iftar Support
The days of Ashura are also a time of fasting, worship, generosity, and sharing. Many Muslims observe the fast of Ashura by fasting on the 9th, 10th, and 11th days of Muharram.
Through this project, in addition to aşure distribution, we also aim to support iftar meals for Qur’an students, children, families, and brothers and sisters in need who observe these blessed days with fasting.
An iftar donation of $135 can help provide an Ashura iftar gathering and share the blessing of these days with communities across Latin America.
